Day 9: tired of compromising

"I had to decide I was tired of settling, tired of compromising. What happens when you delete "com" from the word compromise? You're left with a "promise." we were made for more than compromise. We were made for God's promise in every area of our lives." Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst

I think we all compromise something in our life. I would use the excuse that people do not care what I am going and just eat. About three years ago I was 180 pounds (seems like a dream now!) I did a lot of compromising and got to where I am now. The quote above hit home today when I read it. I am made for God's promise in every area of my life!!

Day 9:
B- 2 over easy eggs, 2 bacon
Ms- string cheese
L- nothing
As- diet coke ;-)
D- (my boyfriend made chicken ranch, ate about three bites! I had to try it because he made him dinner! Super proud!) I had pork chop (size of a deck of cards) and broccoli

Below is a picture on how I set myself up for success during the week. Starting at the left I made ham crusted breakfast quiche and on the right I made amazing Asian salad. The recipes are from the Belly Fat Cure Fast Track pages 117 and 125. I'm not a big morning person and time seems to slip away from me in the morning so I pre make my breakfast and reheat in the morning. On the fast track lunch is usually always salad. I wanted to switch it up some and try the Amazing Asian Salad. The back bowl of chicken is some that i boiled to have on hand through out the week! For dinner I love to cook when I get home from soccer practice or work. :-)

Remember " we were made for God's promise in every area in our lives." Made to Crave

  1. You have some good points about compromising. You made a comment " would use the excuse that people do not care what I am going and just eat". I think that is true because besides your family wanting you to be healthy and happy its the way you feel about yourself at the end of the day. Losing weight feels great and it changes your outward appearance but I dont think any thing will change that goodness and love that is in your heart. Some people can diet and exercise a week and feel the difference and some people have to workout two times a day. I am one of those people that will have to work out twice a day. Counting calories and watching what you eat is great but it shouldnt consume us. My problem is that i dont know exactly what is healthy to eat that i can intergrade into my menu that my kids will like... hope to see you soon and to go on a long walk together!

  2. Hey Grace! I would encourage you as a mom to be an example do your children. I know growing up for me, my parents were super busy and we ate fast food ALL the time. Now that I'm older and my parents are older, they have been dropping pounds and encouraging me to do the same. When I see my mom or dad make good choices, I might not make the same choice but I sure do watch them. When I saw my dad and mom drop weight.. I wanted that! Encouragement is key I do believe and leading by example.

I would love to go on this journey with you! I will post some recipes that maybe you can use. Do you like to cook? What does your family usually eat? Give me an idea so I know how I can help!

I would encourage you to research what is healthy. There are a lot of books out there but there is your doctor as well. I have found low carb is for me. I'm not hungry at 3pm and I have a lot of energy compared to when I ate ALOT of carbs!
